What is the story behind Elpis?

Elpis, from the Greek word for "Hope," serves as your sanctuary amid modern chaos. We believe that despite challenges, there's always a spark of hope guiding us to a better tomorrow. Our founder's personal journey of struggles and triumphs inspired Elpis, showcasing the transformative power of hope and self-discovery. We stand as a beacon of hope and unity, reminding you that you are not alone. 

What are your brand’s mission and values? 

Our mission is to infuse hope, comfort, and courage into daily life, kindling resilience and illuminating paths of self-discovery. We aim to empower individuals to live authentically and fearlessly through our handcrafted soy candles and life coaching services. Our ethos is rooted to guide people towards personal growth and fulfillment. 

What inspired the “Soul Discovery" Collection?

The "Soul Discovery" collection reflects our founder's journey of self-discovery and growth. Inspired by overcoming corporate burnout through a transformative coaching program, each candle in this collection represents a phase of that personal journey.

Our Candles

What ingredients are used in your candles? 

Our candles are non-toxic, Paraffin-free, Paraben-free and Phthalate-free. They are handcrafted using 100% natural soy wax, lead-free cotton wicks, and custom blend of perfume-grade fragrance oils that meet IFRA standards for safety and purity. 

Are your candles eco-friendly? 

Yes, our candles are eco-friendly. We use natural soy wax and reusable or recyclable candle glasses and packaging. Our production processes are designed to minimize waste and environmental impact. We use FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified materials for packaging. The only plastic materials we use are the adhesive on the wick, label, and lid stickers, although we are actively trying to find greener alternatives to these.

What size are your candles and how long do your candles burn? 

Each glass is filled with 8 oz of wax. The burn time of our candles can burn for approximately 40-45 hours.

What is the best way to care the candles? 

The first time you burn your candle,  burn for at least 2 hours to allow the top of the wax to melt completely.  After burning, trim the candle wicks to 3-6mm and ensure that any ashes and burnt sections are thoroughly removed. This will help it perform optimally every time you light it 

Why my candle is sweating?

Sweating, or the appearance of small beads of oil on the surface of your candle, is a natural occurrence with soy wax candles. This happens due to temperature fluctuations or when the candle is exposed to heat. The oils in soy wax can sometimes separate from the wax, causing this effect. It's completely normal and doesn't affect the quality or performance of your candle. 

Why is my flame flickering or dwindling?

A flickering or dwindling flame can be caused by several factors:

Drafts: Ensure your candle is placed away from air vents, open windows, or fans.

Wick length: If the wick is too long or short, it can cause irregular burning. Trim the wick to about 3-6mm before each use.

Debris in the wax pool: Remove any wick trimmings or matches that may have fallen into the melted wax.

How can I fix a candle that is tunneling?

If your candle has started tunneling, you can try these methods to fix it:

Foil Method:  Wrap aluminum foil around the top of the candle, leaving a hole in the center for the flame. This helps distribute heat evenly and melt the wax at the edges.

Hair Dryer: Hold the heat source a few inches away from the candle and move it in a circular motion until the wax is evenly melted. Allow it to cool and solidify on a flat surface.

Additional Burn Time: On subsequent burns, make sure to let the candle burn for a sufficient amount of time so that the entire surface melts evenly. This usually takes about 1 to 3 hours, depending on the candle size.

How can I place an order?

You can place an order through our website by selecting the products you wish to purchase and adding them to your cart. Follow the checkout process to complete your order.

What payment methods do you accept? 

We accept various payment methods, including credit/debit cards, Apple/Google Pay. All transactions are secure and encrypted for your protection.

Can I change or cancel my order after it has been placed?

If you need to change or cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible. We can accommodate changes or cancellations if the order has not yet been processed. Once the order is in production, changes or cancellations may not be possible.

Shipping

What shipping options do you offer? 

We offer standard and expedited shipping options. The available options and prices will be displayed at checkout based on your location.

How long will it take to receive my order? 

Please give 2-3 business days for all orders to be processed and shipped. Purchases made on weekends and public holidays are processed the following business day. Once your order is dispatched you will receive your tracking number via your email entered at checkout.

Delivery times depend on your location and the shipping method selected. Standard shipping typically takes 5-7 business days within the country. Expedited options are also available for faster delivery in 1-3 business days.

Do you offer free shipping? 

Yes, we offer free standard shipping on orders over a certain amount. Please check our website for the current free shipping threshold and any ongoing promotions.

Do you ship internationally?

As of now, we only ship within Singapore. We are revisiting our international shipping process with our carriers and hope to have updates soon. Thank you for your patience and kind understanding.

How can I track my order?

Once your order is shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with a tracking number you can use to track your package. If you haven’t received either of these emails, please check your spam folder to ensure it hasn’t gone to junk! Still can’t find it? What should I do if my order arrives damaged?

We are very sorry to hear that! Please contact us immediately with photos of the damage and your order number. We will arrange for a replacement or refund according to your preference.

Exchanges & Refunds

Exchanges & Refunds

All of our products are carefully inspected before they are shipped. We do not offer refunds if the item(s) arrive(s) without damage. However we’ll be more than happy to offer free replace or refund for any incorrect items received or items that are defective or damaged during transit. 


To process a exchange/ refund

We will replace or refund products damaged during shipment if photographic proof of damage is submitted to us at hello@elpisliving.co within three (3) days of delivery. You may also exchange your product for another candle of the same price 

Please include your original order number in the email. Your subject line should read – ‘Incorrect/Damaged - exchange/ refund [your order number]’.
